The Alternative Measures Program, or AMP, is a program put in place that allows those who accept responsibility for their crime to complete a series of tasks, such as volunteer work, an apology letter, or whatever is deemed appropriate in their case. Upon the completion of the tasks they are assigned they may have their criminal charge withdrawn, and avoid having a criminal record of the charge.
In order to be eligible for this program, the accused must have no criminal record or one criminal conviction at most. The crime they are accused of must be minor, and not involve family violence or be a matter of not following the instructions of the court.
If you have been accused of a crime and would like to know if you are eligible for the Alternative Measures Program, please contact our office.
